Here are some of the frequently asked questions we receive from our clients.

Q.   What Do I Do At The Scene Of An Accident?

If you are involved in a car collision, don't try to drive yourself or your vehicle. Contact the police or call 911.  You will need to exchange license numbers, names, telephone, and insurance information with the other driver. Document the names and contact information of any witnesses and take photos of the damage.

Q.   What Should I Look For In An Auto Body Repair Shop When I Need Auto Body Repair?

A reputable auto body shop will provide an accurate cost estimate and a reasonable time frame for completing collision repairs. Clarify the terms of your guarantee for repair work and whether a courtesy car is available if repairs are lengthy.

Q.   Should I Contact My Own Insurance Even If The Accident Was Not My Fault?

Contact your insurance company to notify them in the event of an accident. Your insurance company can help speed up a claim no matter who is at fault. Ray Harris Paint and Body provides assistance with processing your insurance claims once your vehicle is under our care.

Q.   Do I Need An Appointment For An Estimate?

Yes, an appointment is required at Ray Harris Paint and Body in order to receive the most professional and accurate estimate. Do not attempt to drive your vehicle if it is unsafe to do so.

Q.   Do I Have To Take My Vehicle To The Auto Body Shop Suggested By My Insurance Company?

Your insurance company may direct you to have complete vehicle repairs at a preferred auto body shop; however it is always your decision to have repairs done at a location you have chosen and deem trustworthy.

Q.   How Soon Can I Bring My Vehicle In For Repairs And How Long Will It Take?

Call us with details of the extent of the damages to your car immediately following an accident and we can help you assess whether it is safe for you to drive to our location or whether you require towing. Ray Harris Paint and Body provides free appraisals and detailed written estimates and always asks for your authorization before completing any auto body repair work.

Q.   Who Collects The Deductible And When Is It Collected?

The deductible amount is determined at the time you purchased you insurance. Unless your auto body shop is notified that this fee has been waived for any reason, the vehicle insurance policy’s deductible amount is to be paid by the customer directly to the auto body shop once repairs have been completed.
